This Privacy Policy describes how Direct2Date ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our dating concierge service ("Service").
1. Information We Collect
When you sign up and use the Service, we collect:
- Account information: mobile phone number, first name, age, gender, dating preferences, occupation, interests, and connection-type preferences.
- Photos: photos you upload for use on your dating profile.
- Dating platform credentials and activity: the dating app you select (e.g., Hinge, Tinder, Bumble) and concierge actions taken on your behalf.
- Communications: SMS messages exchanged with our concierge, your responses, and your preference selections.
- Payment information: processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and operate your dating profile on the platform you selected.
- To send you SMS notifications about matches, conversations, date proposals, and account status.
- To evaluate matches and conduct conversations with potential matches on your behalf.
- To verify your identity (phone OTP) and authenticate your sessions.
- To improve the Service and develop new features.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. SMS Messaging Disclosure
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories above exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Message frequency: You may receive up to 10 SMS messages per week related to your concierge service, including account verification, account-ready notifications, match notifications, conversation outcomes, and preference confirmations.
Message and data rates may apply.
Reply HELP at any time for help. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of all SMS messages from Direct2Date. After replying STOP you will receive one confirmation message and no further messages will be sent.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS service availability and message delivery depend on your carrier and device.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Service providers: Twilio (SMS delivery), our payment processor, hosting providers, and similar vendors under contract.
- Dating platforms: we transmit your profile information to the dating app you selected, acting on your behalf.
- Legal: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share mobile numbers with third parties for marketing.
5. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active, plus the period required to comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@direct2date.com.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@direct2date.com.
7. Children
The Service is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by SMS or in-app notification before they take effect.
